Absurdistan: Mission Accomplished

Our trips during that time – far away in memory, it seems, after this pandemic year – always yielded insights we could only get by having put our boots on the ground and looking at the world from a different perspective. It’s amazing what you can learn by cavorting with business leaders, traders, marketers, expats, writers, publishers, flight attendants, hotel staff, cab drivers, street vendors… and other nefarious characters you meet when you’re out of your comfort zone. “One’s destination is never a place,” Henry Miller once famously said, “but a new way of seeing things.”
