James Altucher’s Escape From New York
As the lockdowns persisted and Andrew Cuomo spent more of his time talking about his prowess (at pandemic response) than actually helping anyone… people fled to the suburbs. In August, James wrote an analysis of the economic impacts of the lockdown. He titled it “NYC Is Dead Forever,” which prompted The New York Post to publish it as an opinion column. Many of the things he was concerned about are both consistent with the analysis you’ve been reading here and have already come to pass. Yet the reaction was, um, heated. His fellow New Yorkers turned on him, including comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who called James a “putz” in an opposing op ed in The New York Times.
