While perusing for meaning of the Great Conjunction myself, I happened upon a site called the Side View, featuring an essay on “Why civilizations collapse”. The Side View “draws from philosophers, scientists, and athletes, as well as designers, artists, and contemplatives.” And, in this case, suggests civilizations collapse because their social techne erodes to the point where their industrial and technological know-how gets lost.
