What happens to property values in this neighborhood if they’re no longer housing Gen-Zers toiling away on laptops? What happens to the restaurants who’ve built their businesses on the mid-day lunch crowd and happy hours? What about night life… or apartment rentals? The ‘optimistic curmudgeon’ would say, it’s all going to work out. Values will again fall to where people will come by seeking bargains. But it’s going to take time.
